Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and advise on first-party property insurance coverage matters, including policy interpretation, coverage investigations, and pre-suit evaluations.
- Manage coverage disputes through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and resolution.
- Conduct examinations under oath (EUOs), draft coverage opinions, and develop litigation strategies for complex property claims.
- Prepare motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
- Collaborate with attorneys and insurance industry professionals on high-exposure property coverage matters.
Qualifications / Nice to Have
Must Have
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in good standing.
- 4+ years of insurance coverage experience.
- Experience handling first-party property coverage matters.
- Experience with policy analysis, EUOs, depositions, pleadings, motions, and mediation.
Nice to Have
- Experience representing insurance carriers.
- Experience managing coverage disputes from investigation through litigation.
- Background in complex property loss or catastrophe-related claims.
- Experience drafting coverage opinions and advising on coverage obligations.
