Senior Litigation Attorney

Location: Hybrid - Dallas, TX

Compensation: $170K-$190K + Bonus 

Position Overview
We are a Texas litigation firm of 70+ attorneys seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to lead complex civil litigation matters witha focus on personal injury defense. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume docket of civil litigation matters, including personal injury and insurance defense cases, from initial case assessment through resolution.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy, including pleadings, discovery plans, motions practice, and trial preparation.
  • Lead all phases of trial work: jury selection, openings and closings, witness examination, evidentiary rulings, and post-trial briefing.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, take and respond to expert discovery, and supervise complex discovery disputes and e-discovery workflows.
  • Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions, pretrial memoranda, settlement demands, and appellate briefs when required.
  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to clients, communicating case status, risk assessments, and settlement options in clear, practical terms.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train associates, paralegals, and support staff; review work product to ensure quality and compliance with firm standards.
  • Coordinate with claims professionals, forensic experts, and external counsel to build persuasive factual and legal positions.
  • Drive client development and retention through strong client service, participation in pitches, and contributing to business development initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, maintain matter budgets, and adhere to ethical, procedural, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Texas.
  • 6+ years of civil litigation experience, with substantial trial experience and a proven courtroom record.
  • Demonstrated experience handling personal injury and insurance defense matters preferred.
  • Strong background in motion practice, discovery management, depositions, and trial advocacy.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; experience drafting persuasive briefs and motions.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently and lead litigation teams, mentoring junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Strong client-management skills and the ability to present complex legal issues in straightforward terms.
  • Familiarity with litigation technology and e-discovery tools 
  • High professional and ethical standards, with strong attention to detail and case organization skills.
