Front of the House Staff

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive customer service throughout their visit
• Take food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems such as Toast
• Process cash, credit card, and retail transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy in cash handling and math calculations
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff to deliver quality dishes promptly
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sanitation, bussing tables, and food handling areas
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow food safety protocols to uphold hygiene standards
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
• Manage customer orders with professionalism, ensuring timely service and satisfaction

Skills

• Proven experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or café environments with strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS for processing transactions accurately
• Ability to handle cash register operations and process retail sales transactions confidently
• Knowledge of food safety management, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods
• Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members
• Basic math skills for cash handling, change calculation, and order management
• Experience operating kitchen equipment and supporting food preparation activities
• Retail or grocery store experience is a plus for understanding diverse customer needs
