Complete building maintenance work orders in a safe and timely manner, while maintaining high quality standards. This may include plumbing, painting, welding, masonry, carpentry (both rough and finish)

Perform routine inspections to ensure safety of building structure and proper functioning

Ensure all repairs are documented. Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately with required information. Document all required information in accordance with standard operations procedures

Maintain the grounds and grounds equipment

Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and address problems

Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns
-
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes

Exhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance

Assist with other maintenance activity (e.g., plant maintenance) and with contractors as needed or when directed by supervisor

Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues

Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two (2) years of building and grounds maintenance, construction, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing environment
- SAP experience preferred
- Special Boilers License preferred, with working towards 1B Boilers License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to use standard maintenance tools in a safe manner
- Must have the ability to perform minor projects from planning to installation. (Typically, this includes non-sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines)
- Must have the ability to perform routine repairs in a safe and timely fashion (rebuilding product/water pumps, boiler maintenance, HVAC, VFD's, sanitary valves, piping leaks)
- Must have the ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, identify any abnormal conditions, and maintain appropriate records
- Must have the ability to perform basic welding for repair and fabrication (tig/stick)
- Must have the ability to follow process control computer variables and schematics and diagnose system problems
- Must have the ability to assist other mechanics on more complicated repairs in a safe and useful manner
- Must have good interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and effectively communicate with others
- Must be able to successfully complete a written maintenance test conducted by Maintenance Manager
- Basic computer skills
- Able to read, write, and speak English
