Pay: $25 - $28/hr
Shift: Rotating Days | 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Donor Care Specialist I to perform donor screening, blood collection, therapeutic phlebotomy, and donor care activities while maintaining safe and compliant blood collection practices.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Prior phlebotomy experience required.

  • BLS certification required.

  • National Phlebotomy Certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred.

  • Blood donor collection experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with computers and laptop systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform donor screening procedures to determine donor eligibility.

  • Perform whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.

  • Conduct blood collections at offsite blood drives and donor center locations.

  • Obtain appropriate blood specimens from donors and patients.

  • Monitor donors during and after collection procedures.

  • Prepare and label blood components and laboratory samples accurately.

  • Maintain complete donor records and computer data entry.

  • Document donor deferrals and maintain quality-control standards.

  • Assist with blood donor recruitment and community outreach activities.

  • Perform daily inventory checks and replenish donor care supplies.

  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas.

  • Follow hospital infection-control, safety, fire, and disaster procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of donor and patient information.

  • Provide excellent customer service to donors, patients, staff, and community members.

  • Perform additional duties and special assignments as requested.
