QA Automation Engineer – Consultant

Position Overview

The QA Automation Engineer Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated and manual testing solutions across enterprise applications and business processes. This position requires strong knowledge of software quality assurance practices, test automation frameworks, and end-to-end business process validation.

The consultant will work closely with business analysts, developers, functional teams, and QA leadership to ensure software releases meet quality standards. Experience with Tricentis Tosca and enterprise systems such as SAP is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies.
• Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify testing needs.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Tricentis Tosca.
• Utilize Tosca Commander and TBox to build scalable automation solutions.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Maintain test data and support test environment readiness.
• Document testing results, defects, resolutions, and quality metrics.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.
• Support automation framework development and maintenance.
• Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing progress and risks to stakeholders.
• Assist with mentoring team members on QA automation best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
• Experience documenting end-to-end business processes.
• Ability to interpret functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of Finance, HCM, Logistics, and Treasury business processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca automation.
• Knowledge of SAP and SaaS enterprise applications.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations.
• Knowledge of change impact analysis and regression testing.
• Experience with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar tools.
• Programming experience in Python, JavaScript, or VBScript.
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments.
• Tricentis Tosca certification preferred.
