Trinity County Outreach Coordinator

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for service delivery In Trinity County to victims who have experienced Family Violence or Sexual Abuse. Primary task is crisis intervention and support services to aid in their recovery from the abuse. 

 

Qualifications

  • Prefer Bachelors degree and/or Masters Degree in social service field
  • Must have two years experience working as an employee and/or volunteer in a similar organization. Preferably a family violence and sexual assault program
  • Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance as required by the State of Texas

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide intake sessions assessing individual’s eligibility for services
  • Provide information and referrals relevant to each individual’s situation
  • Responsible for providing crisis intervention and support services either individually or in groups to survivors
  • Provide accompaniment and/or transportation to emergency medical care, and immediate access to agency residential services
  • Assist with donation maintenance including accepting, counting, distributing donations to clients and the community
  • Provide legal information and assistance in the civil and criminal justice system to include information on obtaining crime victim compensation benefits and protective orders
  • Provide personal accompaniment to include court and community resources
  • Facilitate and develop education and support groups
  • Keep current formalized resource/referral system to aid clients in seeking community resources
  • Provide daily documentation of client information, maintaining required statistical and administrative documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Provide personal advocacy to include food, clothing, personal hygiene and other donated items
  • Participate in rotation to provide 24-hour crisis intervention services
  • Provide supervision to volunteers working in Trinity County program
  • Attend meetings pertinent to job performance
  • Coordinate services with other community agencies to include law enforcement and hospitals
  • Provide as needed information to community stakeholders about how to access our services and dynamics of family violence and sexual assault
  • Assist with prevention efforts as needed

 Building and Equipment Maintenance

  • Assist in maintenance of agency equipment
  • Assist in maintaining building safety

 Physical and Sensory

  • Ability to walk, stand, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, bend repeatedly, grasp, pull, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 45 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle and operate motor equipment
  • Conditions include working closely with others, working alone, working while children are playing close by, working protracted or irregular hours
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include computer and related equipment, typewriter, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, and automobile
  • Ability to be flexible and change duties with short notice as needed

 

Supervisor:              Client Services Director

Work Schedule:      Monday through Friday and on call duty

                                    Regular Schedule Hours  8:30 – 5:00 (Flex Time Policy)

Schedules are subject to change to meet the needs of the agency.

Location:                  Outreach offices and outside agencies in service area

Status:                       Non-exempt, 40 hours a week
