Tax Manager - Chicago, IL

ABGi USA is hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Tax Manager opportunity in the Chicago area!

Our client is an established, mid-sized public accounting and advisory firm looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to transition from a larger or national firm while continuing to work with sophisticated clients in a collaborative, mid-sized firm environment.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of progressive tax/public accounting experience

• CPA or EA preferred

• Hands-on experience reviewing complex tax returns — particularly individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held businesses

• Strong experience working with high-net-worth individuals and complex client structures

• Family Office experience is highly preferred

• Exposure to international tax matters is a plus

• Experience with real estate entities and investment partnerships is beneficial

• Ability to confidently manage client relationships and participate in client meetings

• Previous experience mentoring or overseeing junior tax professionals

In this role, you’ll:

• Review complex federal and state tax returns

• Provide strategic tax planning and consulting to clients

• Manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners

• Research and advise on complex tax matters

• Mentor and develop junior tax professionals

• Collaborate with other teams to provide comprehensive client solutions

• Identify additional tax planning and advisory opportunities
