Looking for More Than Just Placing Purchase Orders?
At Edgerton, MN-based Fey Industries, we're looking for an experienced Buyer who can anticipate problems before they happen, build strong supplier relationships, and help keep our operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, vendors, inventory, and cross-functional teams while making a measurable impact on business performance.
What You'll Do
- Manage purchasing activities and purchase orders from start to finish.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Prevent material shortages and communicate supply risks early.
- Analyze inventory, usage trends, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Maintain purchasing and planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Drive continuous improvement through reporting, technology, automation, and AI tools.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, and Accounting to support business objectives.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 4-5 years of purchasing, procurement, materials planning, or supply chain experience.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and managing purchase orders.
- ERP/MRP system experience.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing experience.
- APICS/CPIM certification.
- Experience with inventory planning, supplier performance metrics, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience using AI, automation, dashboards, or reporting tools to improve efficiency.
