Schedule: Primarily daytime hours with flexibility and on-call availability for facility emergencies
Travel: Local travel between Wise Path facilities, including Camp Baer and Westover, as needed

Wise Path Recovery Center is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our treatment facilities safe, functional, clean, and welcoming for the individuals we serve.

This role will primarily support Camp Road while also providing maintenance support to Camp Baer, opening Winter 2026, and our Westover location as needed.

The right person for this role enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work, and understands how important a safe and well-maintained environment is within a behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment setting.

What You’ll Do

Facility Maintenance

• Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Conduct routine inspections for maintenance, safety, and security concerns.
• Complete routine and emergency repairs.
• Repair doors, windows, locks, flooring, ceilings, walls, and other building components.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and patching.
• Maintain and repair facility furnishings and fixtures.
• Replace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, and fixtures.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs involving sinks, toilets, faucets, drains, and water lines.
• Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs within the scope of the position.
• Maintain facility equipment in safe working condition.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
• Assist with facility renovations, construction projects, and new-site preparation.

Work requiring a licensed trade professional will be referred to an appropriately licensed contractor.

Grounds & Exterior Maintenance

• Maintain lawns, landscaping, and outdoor common areas.
• Mow grass, trim shrubs, prune vegetation, and maintain flower beds.
• Assist with planting and seasonal landscaping.
• Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, parking areas, and entrances.
• Apply salt and de-icing materials during winter weather.
• Maintain fences, patios, recreation areas, and walking paths.
• Remove litter and debris from facility grounds.
• Assist with irrigation and drainage system maintenance.
• Maintain outdoor spaces that are clean, safe, and supportive of a therapeutic environment.

HVAC, Mechanical & Utility Systems

• Monitor HVAC equipment and building controls.
• Coordinate HVAC service and preventative maintenance with outside vendors.
• Inspect boilers, water heaters, pumps, generators, and related building equipment.
• Monitor utility use and identify potential maintenance or conservation opportunities.
• Keep mechanical and utility rooms safe, clean, and organized.

Safety & Security

• Assist with maintenance of locks, cameras, alarms, and facility access-control systems.
• Conduct routine environmental and facility safety inspections.
• Identify and correct environmental hazards.
• Support compliance with applicable fire and life-safety requirements.
• Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signage as assigned.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and facility response activities.
• Provide on-call maintenance support for urgent facility needs.
• Coordinate required inspections and maintain accurate compliance records.

Environmental Services Support

• Assist with deep-cleaning and sanitation projects when needed.
• Maintain maintenance shops, storage spaces, and utility rooms.
• Support infection-prevention and environmental health practices.
• Assist with proper disposal of waste and recyclable materials.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

• Obtain quotes and coordinate outside contractors and service providers.
• Arrange repair services that fall outside the scope of the position.
• Monitor vendor performance and completed work.
• Ensure contractors follow facility safety requirements.
• Coordinate with water, sewer, and other utility vendors for testing, maintenance, and inspections.

Inventory & Documentation

• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Order materials and replacement parts as needed.
• Maintain service records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation.
• Document inspections and completed repairs.
• Assist with maintenance and facility project budgeting.

Who You Are

You are someone who notices problems before they become bigger problems. You are comfortable working independently, prioritizing multiple requests, and responding quickly when something affects facility safety or operations.

You also understand that working in a behavioral health environment requires professionalism, discretion, good judgment, and respect for the individuals receiving care.

Requirements

• Previous building maintenance, facilities, construction, property management, or related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of general building maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and repair work.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to identify when work requires a licensed contractor and appropriately escalate the issue.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete basic maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Wise Path locations as needed.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required.
• Ability to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside of normal business hours when necessary.

Work Conditions

This position requires regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and working in indoor and outdoor environments.

The Maintenance Technician must be able to safely lift and move equipment, supplies, and materials associated with facility maintenance and may occasionally work in mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, or other spaces with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
