Now Hiring: Shop Operator/Material Handler
Location:Houston, TX 77051
Schedule:8:00am-5:00pm
Pay:$17-$18/hour
The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add a Material Handler to their team!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist with upkeep of shop machines/fork lifts; consisting of adding coolant and oil
- Load and unload finished pieces from shop machines
- Preparing finished materials for shipment
- Keeping shop floor clean at all times
- Assisting shipping department
- Observe necessary safety precautions
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.
- Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager
What We're Looking For:
Experience operating a forklift
Stable work history, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
Positive attitude and a good team member
PPE Required:
Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)
Safety Glasses ANSI z87+, Clear
Safety Vest Type R, Class 2,NoneFR, Yellow/Green, or Orange
Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+
Steel Toed Boots (at least 5 ankle coverage)
