Job Description

Our painters perform a variety of tasks such as assembling scaffolding, surface preparation, sanding down old paint, filling in drywall holes, mixing paint colors, and painting homes and businesses. The ideal candidate should be comfortable talking with clients to understand their needs. Compensation:$38,000 - $52,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Secure trim, fixtures, floors, and furniture from paint using drop cloths
- Fill holes and cracks with putt, and sand away old paint to prepare surfaces for painting
- Meet with customers to understand what they want and make suggestions
- Mix paint or stains to customer’s specification
- Build scaffolding when needed
- Protect trim, floors, fixtures, and furniture from paint using drop cloths and covers
- Repair small drywall patches
- Maintain a neat and tidy work area
Qualifications:
- Applicant must have valid driver’s license
- Candidates must be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and have physical strength and dexterity
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Preference for candidates with 2+ years work experience and completed apprenticeship, but not required
- Applicants that are detail-oriented and possess strong time management and communications are preferred
- Must live within 50 miles of Auburn Hills, Michigan, to be considered for this position
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional painting experience (residential and/or commercial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and proper use of brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolding
- Experience with drywall patching, sanding, caulking, taping, and priming surfaces
- Understanding of different paint types and finishes, including interior/exterior applications
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to follow job site safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with clients and coworkers
- Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule year-round
