SYSTEMS ANALYST – HEALTHCARE IT

Location: Pensacola, Florida Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Operations / Information Technology Reports To: Information Technology Manager

Position Summary

Woodlands Medical Specialists is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the technology and information systems used throughout the practice. This position will work closely with clinical, administrative, billing, and management teams to troubleshoot system issues, improve workflows, support software applications, and help ensure employees have the technology resources they need to perform their jobs effectively.

This is a hands-on position for an individual who enjoys solving problems, working with people, and improving the way technology supports day-to-day healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for practice software applications and information systems.
  • Troubleshoot user and application issues and coordinate with outside IT support when necessary.
  • Work with staff to identify technology and workflow problems.
  • Assist with implementation, configuration, testing, and upgrades of software applications.
  • Support electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) and practice-management systems.
  • Assist with system integrations and interfaces between applications.
  • Help maintain user accounts, access, and system permissions.
  • Assist with data reporting, spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic operational analytics.
  • Develop and maintain system and workflow documentation.
  • Assist with employee training on software applications and technology processes.
  • Work with vendors to resolve application and system issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and workflow changes.
  • Assist management with technology-related projects and initiatives.
  • Follow HIPAA, privacy, security, and organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in systems support, application support, healthcare IT, EMR/EHR support, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong computer and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with software applications and business systems.
  • Ability to understand and document workflows.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also working closely with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with an EMR/EHR system is preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus but is not required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills preferred.

Salary

$60,000–$68,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a practical, hands-on systems problem solver who can work directly with employees to resolve technology issues and improve operational processes.

The position does not require an advanced technical background. Strong experience with healthcare applications, EMR/EHR systems, troubleshooting, workflow improvement, and end-user support may be more valuable than formal education or highly specialized technical certifications.

Epic experience is desirable but should be viewed as an additional qualification rather than a requirement.

Benefits

Woodlands Medical Specialists offers a competitive benefits package, which may include health insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and other employee benefits.
