Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Buyer Job in Bloomfield, CT. This hybrid opportunity is available with one of our key customers in the elevators, escalators, and moving walkway industry and offers a schedule of three days on-site and two days remote, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. In this role, you will be responsible for executing procurement activities to ensure the timely availability of materials, components, and services required to support production and business operations. You will work closely with suppliers, planners, manufacturing, logistics, and cross-functional teams to manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, and support inventory optimization. This is an entry- to intermediate-level procurement role with increasing responsibility for supplier relationship management, cost control, and supply continuity.

Buyer Job Responsibilities:

• Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders in accordance with business requirements, monitor purchase order status, expedite critical orders, and resolve supply shortages to minimize operational disruptions.
• Process order acknowledgements and ensure supplier commitments are accurately reflected in planning systems, while managing reschedules, cancellations, and order modifications based on changing demand.
• Coordinate and manage end-to-end procurement activities, partnering with warehouse, quality, and supplier teams to ensure timely supplier fulfillment and resolve receiving issues when needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers, monitor performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance, and coordinate resolution of delivery issues, shortages, invoice discrepancies, and quality concerns.
• Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams to communicate material availability risks, support new product introductions and engineering changes, maintain accurate procurement records, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Entry to intermediate-level procurement experience with knowledge of purchasing activities, purchase order management, and supplier coordination.
• Experience creating, managing, and maintaining purchase orders and monitoring supplier commitments and on-time delivery.
• Strong ability to work with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, shortages, invoice discrepancies, quality concerns, and other supply-related issues.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance, warehouse, and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to maintain accurate purchasing records, follow company policies and ethical standards, and support supply continuity and process improvement.
