Job Description

Most Audit Manager roles come with more engagements, more review notes, and another demanding busy season. This opportunity comes with something more valuable: greater influence.

A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Audit Manager who has mastered engagement execution and is ready to shape client strategy, develop talent, and contribute to the broader practice.

You will own key client relationships, lead complex engagements from planning through issuance, and work directly with firm leadership to solve the issues that matter most to clients. This is a chance to grow beyond engagement management and become a stronger advisor, people leader, and driver of the practice.

What you'll be doing:

Lead audit, review, and assurance engagements from planning through completion and final issuance

Serve as the primary contact for clients, building trusted relationships with CFOs, controllers, business owners, and senior management

Understand the business behind the financial statements and advise clients on complex accounting, reporting, internal control, and operational matters

Oversee engagement strategy, risk assessment, audit execution, financial statement preparation, and the resolution of complex technical issues

Review financial statements, disclosures, workpapers, and engagement documentation while maintaining rigorous audit quality standards

Lead, coach, and develop Seniors and Staff while establishing clear accountability across engagement teams

Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and introduce additional assurance, accounting, and advisory services

What they're looking for:

5+ years of progressive public accounting audit and assurance experience

Current Audit Manager experience or success as a high-performing Senior ready to assume Manager-level responsibility

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

CPA strongly preferred

Proven ability to manage engagements, budgets, deadlines, and multiple client relationships simultaneously

Experience reviewing complex financial statements and audit documentation while providing clear technical direction to engagement teams

Strong executive presence and the confidence to communicate with senior client leadership

Demonstrated success developing, mentoring, and retaining junior professionals

Why this one is worth a conversation:

At many firms, promotion to Manager simply means more engagements, more review notes, and more responsibility without greater influence.

This team is looking for someone who can own relationships, develop people, shape client strategy, and play an increasingly meaningful role in growing the practice. If you have proven that you can run the work and are ready for a platform that lets you build beyond it, I would be happy to share more confidentially.
