Job Description
Hi Power Electric is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Delivery Driver to transport electrical products, materials, and equipment between our warehouse, job sites, vendors, and customers throughout Colorado. This role is critical to keeping projects on schedule by ensuring electrical supplies (wire, conduit, panels, fixtures, tools, and related components) are picked up and delivered accurately, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate is punctual, detail-oriented, comfortable with physical handling of materials, and provides a professional face for the company at every stop.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle (van or box/straight truck) to deliver and pick up electrical products between the warehouse, supplier locations, and job sites.
- Load, secure, and unload materials such as wire and cable, conduit, panels, breakers, fixtures, and tools, using proper lifting techniques and load-securing equipment.
- Verify delivery and pickup orders against packing slips or work orders to ensure accuracy before and after each stop.
- Obtain proper signatures and documentation for deliveries, pickups, and returns; maintain accurate delivery logs and mileage records.
- Plan efficient delivery routes and communicate any delays, schedule changes, or issues to dispatch or the warehouse manager.
- Perform routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure cargo area to protect product integrity.
- Provide courteous, professional service to customers, vendors, and job site personnel.
- Follow all DOT, traffic, and company safety regulations, including proper use of hand trucks, dollies, and lifting equipment.
- Assist with warehouse duties (picking, staging, and inventory support) between deliveries as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 1 year of delivery, driving, or warehouse experience preferred; experience with electrical, plumbing, or construction supply distribution is a plus.
- Ability to read maps, use GPS/route-planning software, and navigate the Denver metro area and surrounding regions.
- Basic knowledge of electrical products and terminology preferred (wire gauges, conduit types, panel components), or willingness to learn.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, MVR (motor vehicle record) check, and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Prior experience driving box trucks or straight trucks in a delivery or distribution setting.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. with assistance or equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb in/out of a vehicle, and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions when loading, unloading, or making outdoor deliveries.
Work Schedule
Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, day shift, with early starts or overtime based on delivery volume and business needs.
