Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9AM-5PM

Job Summary

A mission-driven organization in the Litchfield, CT area is seeking a full-time bilingual Registered Nurse (English/Spanish).

This RN will provide a combination of direct clinical care, health assessments, medication management, care coordination, documentation, and administrative responsibilities within a residential and school-based environment for an underserved population.

Patient Population & Environment

The program provides care and support to a diverse adolescent population in a residential setting.

Many individuals served may have had limited access to healthcare, making the RN an important part of identifying healthcare needs, establishing appropriate care, and coordinating ongoing medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care within a residential program

  • Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments

  • Obtain and monitor vital signs and other basic clinical measurements

  • Assess and respond to medical concerns

  • Support medication management and administration

  • Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up care

  • Communicate with outside healthcare providers as needed

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

  • Monitor ongoing health needs

  • Provide health education to patients and staff

  • Identify when additional medical evaluation or intervention is needed

  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers

  • Support continuity of care

  • Collaborate with residential, educational, clinical, and administrative staff

  • Participate in a shared nursing/on-call system

  • Provide guidance and support to staff regarding medical needs

  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team

  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach

  • Comfortable working with children and adolescents

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing patient needs

  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds

Experience
  • New graduate RNs may be considered

  • Prior nursing experience preferred, but specific specialty experience is not required

  • Pediatric, residential, school nursing, community health, urgent care, primary care, behavioral health, or other direct-care nursing experience could translate well

  • Experience working with culturally diverse or underserved populations is a plus
