This is an opportunity to join a growing company at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing and industrial innovation. We’re hiring a Contract Buyer for a 3–6 month assignment to support a fast-paced production operation serving high-tech, energy, and infrastructure markets.

As a Contract Buyer, you’ll play a key role in sourcing materials, equipment, services, and supplies that support manufacturing and business operations. You’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to understand purchasing needs, obtain competitive pricing, manage orders and contracts, and ensure materials and services are delivered on time.

This is a hands-on, project-focused opportunity for a Buyer who can quickly step into a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, equipment, services, and supplies based on business and operational needs.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, availability, and delivery requirements.
  • Request and evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders.
  • Manage supplier relationships and follow up on delivery, quality, and performance issues.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure materials and services are delivered according to schedule.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and other internal teams to understand requirements and purchasing priorities.
  • Support purchasing needs for capital projects, equipment, construction, and facility initiatives.
  • Monitor pricing, lead times, and market conditions that may impact purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within SAP.
  • Utilize Power BI and other reporting tools to support procurement visibility and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and improved supplier performance.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, contracts, legal requirements, and ethical procurement standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or technical environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP/procurement system.
  • Strong experience with supplier communication, quoting, purchasing, and vendor management.
  • Strong negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn processes and hit the ground running in a contract environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple purchasing requests, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience purchasing materials, equipment, services, or capital equipment is a plus.
  • Experience supporting construction or capital projects is preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and follow-through skills.
