UV Fire Protection Systems, Inc. is hiring experienced fire sprinkler fitters for multiple full-time openings in Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Port St. Luice. We need installers who can contribute to a field crew, follow sprinkler drawings, and perform quality work safely. Interviews are being scheduled now; start dates depend on completion of the hiring process.

This opening is for building Fire Sprinkler Installation. General plumbing, welding, or construction experience alone does not meet the sprinkler installation requirement. Candidates without direct fire sprinkler experience should apply to our separate Fire Sprinkler Apprenticeship opening.

Pay, schedule, and work location:

Base pay: $25-33 per hour, based on demonstrated fire sprinkler installation skills and relevant experience. Final starting pay is confirmed in writing before employment.

Employment and payroll: Full time; weekly payroll. The pay period runs Friday through Thursday, with payment the following week. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 40 in the workweek in accordance with applicable law.

Normal schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am until 3:30pm. For Occuppied School the average schedule is from 3:00pm until 11:30pm. We are looking for individual looking to do over time work. 

Reporting location:  Employees will report directly to the assigned Jobsite. 

Travel arrangements: [LOCAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENT; WHETHER OVERNIGHT TRAVEL IS REQUIRED; EXPECTED FREQUENCY; VEHICLE, TRAVEL-PAY, HOTEL, AND PER-DIEM TERMS].

Tools and uniforms: Company will provide all power tools. Employee is required to provide all hand tools.

Experience and qualifications

  • Hands-on building fire sprinkler installation experience is required; Four or more years is preferred. You must already be able to perform the core installation tasks below with normal field supervision. This is not an entry-level training position.
  • Read sprinkler installation drawings and use a tape measure to lay out assigned piping; measure, cut, thread, and groove steel pipe using the appropriate equipment.
  • Install hangers, mains, branch lines, fittings, and sprinklers; work accurately, follow safety procedures, and communicate material shortages or field conflicts to the foreman.
  • Have reliable transportation to the designated reporting location and a valid driver’s license; meet the stated jobsite and travel requirements.
Additional experience valued: CPVC sprinkler piping, standpipes, underground fire mains, fire pumps, and guiding helpers. Tell us which systems you have personally installed; experience in every system is not required for every assignment.

What you will do

  • Install overhead fire sprinkler piping and components according to approved drawings, project requirements, and supervisor direction.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble piping with the appropriate hand tools and powered equipment.
  • Install and modify sprinkler components, and assist with testing, leak correction, and project completion as assigned.
  • Coordinate daily work with the foreman and other trades; report obstructions, material needs, and drawing discrepancies before proceeding with conflicting work.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training, protect equipment, maintain an orderly work area, and document assigned work.
  • Arrive at the designated reporting point at the scheduled start time and accurately record all hours worked in ADP.
Benefits and eligibility

Working conditions

This is an active construction position involving standing and walking for much of the day, overhead work, ladders or lifts, and confined-space work where assigned and properly authorized. Essential duties include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
