Job Description
DMV Foot and Ankle, P.C. is a modern, patient-centered podiatry practice dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care for all foot and ankle needs. We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and cared for. We are seeking a Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our growing team and support both the front office and clinical sides of the practice.
Position Summary
This dual role is ideal for a professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and personable. The Receptionist/Medical Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for patients while also assisting with clinical duties to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk / Receptionist Duties
Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using the EMR system
Verify insurance information and process patient paperwork
Collect co-pays, balances, and manage patient billing inquiries
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Clinical / Medical Assistant Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for the physician
Record patient history, vital signs, and reason for visit in EMR
Assist the podiatrist during procedures as needed (e.g., setting up instruments, passing supplies)
Perform basic clinical tasks such as dressing changes, suture removal, and patient education (as trained)
Stock and organize exam rooms and supplies
Maintain sterilization and infection control standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
Medical Assistant certification a plus, but not required (willing to train the right candidate)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
