Senior Lab Technician – 3rd Shift
Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95403
Schedule: 3rd Shift, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Lab Technician to support our client's analytical toxicology laboratory in Santa Rosa, CA. This position is responsible for reviewing analytical laboratory data, processing instrument results, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring testing activities are completed in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This is an excellent opportunity for a chemistry or related science professional with analytical laboratory experience who is comfortable working with sophisticated instrumentation and regulated laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and consistently follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sample sequences for each batch.
- Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate analytical reports.
- Conduct the first review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data in accordance with applicable assay SOPs.
- Transcribe or upload laboratory results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for final review and certification.
- Maintain accurate and complete Chain of Custody and batch documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and promptly escalate emerging issues or challenges.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures when handling biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and analytical instruments.
- Maintain and promote a safe and healthy working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- At least 1 year of experience working in an analytical laboratory.
- Ability to safely work with biological specimens, laboratory chemicals, equipment, and analytical instrumentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow established procedures and documentation requirements.
- Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule of 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM in Santa Rosa, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a toxicology, clinical, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated laboratory environment.
- Experience working with GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Experience with Chain of Custody documentation and analytical data review.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently during an overnight shift, and has a strong foundation in analytical laboratory procedures. Candidates with hands-on exposure to mass spectrometry data, regulated laboratory documentation, and analytical testing environments are especially well suited for this opportunity.
