Building Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join our clients facilities team. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections across various building systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment. • The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Direct hire opening with a pay rate of $20 - $26/hr. + benefits.
• Mon - Fri, day time schedule with minimal on-call.

Responsibilities

• Routine Inspections & Upkeep: Check facility systems like HVAC units, plumbing, lighting, and safety alarms to catch problems early.
• Repairs: Fix plumbing leaks, clear clogged drains, patch drywall, paint walls, repair doors, and replace faulty electrical switches or light fixtures.
• Preventive Maintenance: Follow scheduled maintenance plans to lubricate machinery, replace filters, test equipment, and minimize downtime.
• Work Order Management: Respond to tenant or supervisor maintenance requests using paper logs or digital Building Maintenance Technician Job Description software.
• Vendor Coordination: Escalate major issues and supervise outside contractors for specialized electrical, roofing, or major HVAC work.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance, construction, or building trades.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and hand/power tool safety.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for long hours in varying environments.
• Certifications: OSHA 10/30, EPA certification are a plus! Must have a valid Driver License and reliable transportation.
