HVAC Plumber / Mechanical Technician

Location: Atlanta, GA
Project Duration: 2–4 Months
Project Type: Large Commercial High-Rise
Position: HVAC Plumber / Mechanical Technician


We are seeking experienced HVAC Plumbers / Mechanical Technicians for a 2–4 month project at a large commercial high-rise in Atlanta, GA.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with commercial HVAC piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, pumps, ventilation systems, and mechanical equipment. Experience working on large commercial construction or high-rise projects is highly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and mechanical piping systems.
  • Install and service piping associated with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Perform HVAC-related plumbing and mechanical repairs.
  • Install, repair, and modify water, condensate, hydronic, and other mechanical piping systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, HVAC plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC/R systems.
  • Inspect piping, valves, pumps, boilers, chillers, and related mechanical equipment for leaks, damage, and proper operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and welding equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components associated with HVAC equipment.
  • Perform brazing, soldering, welding, pipe fitting, and other mechanical work as required.
  • Maintain accurate service records, shift reports, and incident documentation.
  • Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and company safety requirements.
  • Work closely with property maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and construction teams.
  • Safely operate company vehicles when traveling between service locations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Plumber, Mechanical Technician, Pipefitter, or similar commercial mechanical position.
  • Experience working on large commercial buildings or high-rise construction projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and hydronic piping systems.
  • Experience with chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and air-handling equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, HVAC plans, and schematics.
  • Experience with pipe installation, fitting, brazing, soldering, or welding.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Refrigeration or ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus but not required for all positions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
  • HVAC/R, plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical certifications/licenses are a plus.
