CNC Machine Operator – 2nd/3rd Shift

Position Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines, loading bar stock, inspecting parts, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Quality and production efficiency are the primary focus of this role.

• Operate CNC machines and load bar stock safely and efficiently

• Read and interpret engineering drawings

• Verify proper paperwork, tools, gages, and materials before production

• Inspect parts using calipers, comparators, depth micrometers, surface finish testers, and other measuring tools

• Perform visual inspections for burrs, chatter, surface finish, chamfer irregularities, etc.

• Complete secondary operations (de-burring, stamping lot codes/part numbers, de-titting, etc.)

• Record inspection data, production quantities, and material usage

• Change tools and make machine adjustments/offsets as needed

• Maintain clean machines (remove chips, report oil leaks)

• Clean parts using aqueous degreasing machines

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Communicate issues and recommend solutions to supervisors

• Run multiple machines while maintaining quality and production standards

• Follow all safety and environmental procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Experience using measuring tools (calipers, comparators, depth micrometers, surface finish testers)

• Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English

• Prior CNC Machine Operator experience or manufacturing certification preferred

• Experience with lathe machinery, Haas, Mori Seiki, and/or Star CNC machines is a plus
