Director

Active Learning Center is seeking an experienced dependable, and motivated Childcare Center Director for our Phoenix, Arizona location.

We are looking for a hands on leader who takes pride and accountability in the successful operation of their center. The Director will lead the staff, build strong relationships with families, maintain regulatory compliance, manage enrollment and labor, and create a positive environment where children and employees can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily operations of the children center. Maintain compliance with Arizona DHS Child Care Licensing and DES requirements. Maintain a minimum 3- Star Quality First rating with a goal of achieving and maintaining 5- star quality. Maintain proper staff-to-child ratios at all times. Hire, train, coach schedule, supervise, and hold staff accountable. Manage staffing and labor costs while maintaining appropriate classroom coverage. Conduct daily classroom walk-throughs. Ensure curriculum and weekly lesson plans are completed and implemented. Oversee enrollment, tours, family retention, and center growth. Monitor parent accounts and ensure tuition balances are collected timely. Ensure DES attendance, parent sign-in/ sign-out records, classroom rosters, and required documentation. Oversee CACFP/Food Program requirements and documentation. Maintain organized employee, child, licensing and training records. Prepare for DHS, DES, Quality First, CACFP, Fire, ad other regulatory visits. Communicate professionally with parents, employees, and ownership. Step into classrooms and assist the team when necessary.

Compensation

57,000-62,400 annually

Starting salary is based on childcare management experience, education, qualifications, and knowledge of Arizona childcare regulations and programs.
