We are seeking compassionate, patient, and reliable caregivers to join our Memory Care team at Farr Residential Care. This position supports residents living with Dementia, and other memory-related conditions within our secure memory care community. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, observant, team-oriented, and committed to providing a safe, structured, and supportive environment while helping residents maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

Available Shifts

Day shift (Med Tech) Thursday-Saturday 7am-9pm
Day shift Sunday-Tuesday 7am-8pm
NOC Shift: Sunday - Tuesday 10pm-7am, Wednesday 7:30pm-8:30am
NOC Shift: Thursday -Saturday 7:30pm-8:30am
(1+ year of memory care or dementia care experience preferred for all shifts.)

What You'll Do

  • Assist residents with daily care needs while promoting dignity, independence, and respect at all times.
  • Support residents through daily routines using cueing, redirection, reassurance, and reminders based on individual cognitive needs while encouraging independence whenever possible.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition, behavior, mood, appetite, mobility, or cognition and report concerns immediately to the RN, House Manager, or Director.
  • Demonstrate understanding of what constitutes a change in condition and respond appropriately.
  • Remain calm and supportive during challenging situations, utilizing dementia-informed approaches, redirection, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with structured activities, engagement opportunities, socialization, and daily routines that promote resident well-being and quality of life.
  • Provide close observation and supervision to help ensure resident safety within the secure memory care community.
  • Prepare residents for scheduled activities and appointments as needed.
  • Accurately obtain and record vital signs and weights and complete daily documentation and required progress notes as assigned.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry as needed, and support dining room operations including meal set-up, serving, and clean-up.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information at all times.
  • Build respectful, professional relationships with residents, families, and coworkers while providing consistent support.
  • Work as part of a team while demonstrating reliability, compassion, patience, and professionalism.
  • Follow all safety procedures, policies, and directions from supervising staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in memory care, dementia care, caregiving, or direct support in a licensed facility preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Compassion, patience, and emotional stability.
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in stressful or unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition, cognition, or behavior.
  • Ability to support resident independence while providing appropriate levels of care and supervision.
  • Understanding of person-centered dementia care principles preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass WA State background check.
  • Active Home Care Aide (HCA) or CNA
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred (Not Required at Time of Application)

  • CPR/First Aid (training provided)
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Dementia Specialty Certificate
  • Mental Health Specialty Certificate
  • Developmental Disabilities Specialty Certificate

Required by First Day of Employment
