Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Construction Project Manager to oversee ground-up data center construction and white-space build-out projects. This position represents the client onsite and is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing project documentation, controlling costs and schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive mission-critical construction experience and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, and structural systems within data centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily onsite construction activities for ground-up data center projects.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple subcontractors and field teams of 50–100+ personnel.
  • Oversee white-space construction, including cabinet layouts, hot and cold aisle configurations, overhead support systems, cable trays, structured cabling, and equipment installation.
  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, and low-voltage scopes.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and quality-control processes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, vendors, design teams, and field personnel.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract requirements.
  • Manage bids, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, forecasting, and P&L tracking.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, design issues, cost risks, and potential project delays.
  • Conduct project meetings, site walks, inspections, and progress reviews.
  • Manage punch-list completion, commissioning coordination, turnover documentation, and project closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and client procedures.
  • Provide clear and timely project updates to leadership and the client.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of construction project management experience on large, complex MEP projects.
  • Data center or other mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting ground-up construction and data center white-space fit-outs.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, low-voltage, cooling, and critical-power infrastructure.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and large onsite field teams.
  • Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, budgets, schedules, punch lists, and closeout.
  • Strong client-facing communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel as project needs require.
