Job Summary
The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of production equipment and facility systems within a manufacturing environment. This position performs day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance while serving as a key technical resource for pyrometry, calibration, and testing in accordance with AMS2750 requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong industrial maintenance and troubleshooting experience combined with hands-on knowledge of System Accuracy Tests (SAT), Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), thermocouples, temperature-control instrumentation, calibration equipment, and pyrometry documentation.

Job Responsibilities
Pyrometry & Calibration
- Perform and document System Accuracy Tests (SAT), Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), and temperature instrumentation calibrations in accordance with AMS2750, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
- Calibrate, verify, troubleshoot, and maintain oven and furnace temperature controllers, recorders, monitoring instruments, thermocouples, sensors, and associated wiring.
- Identify and troubleshoot temperature-control, uniformity, sensor, instrumentation, airflow, heating-element, and other furnace-related issues.
- Review test and calibration results and identify out-of-tolerance or nonconforming conditions.
- Utilize C3 Data software to schedule, perform, document, review, and generate reports for SATs, TUSs, instrument calibrations, sensor usage, and other pyrometry activities.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready pyrometry records and support Quality during internal, customer, AS9100, and Nadcap audits, as applicable.
- Monitor pyrometry test, calibration, and equipment due dates to ensure activities are completed on time.
Pyrometry Inventory & Equipment
- Maintain adequate inventory of pyrometry consumables, sensors, thermocouple wire, connectors, test equipment, and critical replacement components.
- Establish and monitor stocking levels and reorder points for critical pyrometry materials.
- Ensure thermocouples, reference standards, test instruments, and calibration equipment are properly identified, stored, controlled, traceable, and within required calibration periods.
- Coordinate replenishment, external calibration, repair, and certification of pyrometry equipment as necessary.
- Identify critical spare parts and materials required to prevent production or compliance-related downtime.
Maintenance & Facilities Support
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot motors, heaters, contactors, relays, sensors, control circuits, and industrial instrumentation.
- Perform basic PLC and industrial controls troubleshooting.
- Maintain industrial ovens, furnaces, pumps, compressors, exhaust systems, HVAC equipment, and other production or facility equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical procedures.
- Complete work orders, preventive maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair documentation within the CMMS.
- Support equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, commissioning, and continuous-improvement projects.
- Follow all applicable safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety procedures.
Job Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of AMS2750 pyrometry experience.
- Experience in aerospace, heat treatment, or a Nadcap-accredited manufacturing environment.
- Experience using C3 Data pyrometry software.
- Experience with SAT, TUS, instrument calibration, sensor tracking, and report generation within C3 Data.
- PRI/Nadcap pyrometry or AMS2750 training.
- Experience supporting Nadcap Heat Treat or AS9100 audits.
- Experience with calibration traceability and ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration services.
- PLC troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems.
- Experience troubleshooting VFDs, SSRs, SCRs, heating elements, burners, and temperature-control loops.
- Technical degree, trade-school certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent training in industrial maintenance, instrumentation, electronics, mechatronics, HVAC, or a related field.

- Ability to work in manufacturing environments involving heat, noise, moving machinery, and industrial utilities.
- Ability to safely access oven and furnace instrumentation and related equipment.
- Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours for scheduled pyrometry activities, maintenance shutdowns, or emergency repairs.
