Job Description

The Wire Harness Assembler plays a critical role in producing high-quality wire harnesses and cable assemblies within a small assembly team. This position requires interpreting manufacturing drawings and wiring diagrams to develop wire run lists and build assemblies that meet stringent IPC 620 standards. Frequent collaboration with in-house engineers is essential to resolve technical queries and support prototype builds. The ideal candidate demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills in soldering, crimping, and splicing, and a commitment to quality assurance and ESD safety protocols.

 

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, wiring schedules, and circuit diagrams
  • Develop wire run lists from electrical schematics and cable schedules
  • Produce wiring looms and cable assemblies using crimping, soldering, lacing, and splicing techniques following IPC 620 standards
  • Hard wire cabinets and fixtures according to manufacturing drawings
  • Operate hand crimping tools and perform hand soldering using appropriate solder and tips
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to address technical queries and develop build solutions for prototypes
  • Perform quality checks and testing of finished assemblies
  • Maintain ESD awareness and safety standards during assembly processes

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in wiring and developing wire run lists
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC circuitry, circuit phase shifting, impedance, and power calculations
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background, criminal, and drug screenings

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of wire harness assembly experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
