Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – Gastroenterology
Location: Palm Springs, CA

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Gastroenterology team in Palm Springs, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience caring for patients with gastrointestinal conditions. This role offers the opportunity to transition from primary care into gastroenterology while working collaboratively with specialists to deliver high‐quality, patient‐centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Manage medications and provide patient education
• Coordinate care with gastroenterologists, primary care providers, and other specialists
• Perform follow‐up evaluations and monitor treatment outcomes
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR
• Provide preventive care and counseling related to GI health
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care when necessary
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinical standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Current California NP or PA license
• National board certification as applicable
• Current BLS certification
• DEA registration or eligibility
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient‐care skills
• Experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, or related specialty preferred

Preferred Experience

• Gastroenterology or GI clinic background
• Managing patients with GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and other GI conditions
• Assisting with or managing patients undergoing GI procedures
• Knowledge of GI medications and treatment plans
• Experience collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams

Schedule

• Full‐Time, Monday–Friday
• Outpatient clinical setting
