CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN I
LOCATION
Tempe, AZ | Onsite


COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $22–$26 per hour
• Full-time
• Non-exempt


ROLE IMPACT
Support the assembly, testing, and calibration of flow measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely work with small components, tools, calibration equipment, and computer systems.


KEY DUTIES
• Perform mechanical assembly, cleaning, and laser etching of flow meters.
• Conduct hydrostatic/hyperbaric pressure testing of flow meters and housings.
• Blend fluids to specified viscosities and calibrate flow meters using various calibrators and CalWare.
• Install lock wires on flow meters and electronic components.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area using a 5S approach.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, use hand and power tools, and work with very small parts and components.


EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Uses small hand and power tools, calibration equipment, machinery, and computer systems.
• Regularly required to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods, bend, reach, move between workstations, and perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• May be required to lift light items up to 20 lbs. regularly, medium items of 21–50 lbs. often, and heavy items of 51–100 lbs. rarely.
• May perform tasks under magnification using a microscope and work requiring near-distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work is performed indoors in an environmentally controlled manufacturing setting with periodic exposure to moderate-to-high noise levels and low concentrations of volatile solvents. Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required at all times; additional PPE will be provided as required.


PREFERRED SKILLS
• Associate degree in mechanical/electronic technology.
• Basic electronic and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematics, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
