Job Title: Project Scheduler
Location: Deer Park, TX
Job Type: Contract


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and progress tracking for projects in the Deer Park, TX area. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and maintaining project schedules, analyzing schedule performance, identifying risks and delays, and working closely with project, engineering, construction, procurement, and other cross-functional teams.


Experience supporting engineering, EPC, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or chemical/petrochemical projects is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Establish project baselines, milestones, activities, logic, durations, and critical paths.
  • Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against approved schedules and baselines.
  • Perform critical path, float, schedule variance, and schedule impact analysis.
  • Work with project teams to identify schedule risks, constraints, delays, and recovery opportunities.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, manufacturing, and other functional teams to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Support resource planning and allocation based on project requirements, priorities, and available capacity.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with project forecasting by analyzing schedule progress, resource requirements, budgets, and performance data.
  • Support earned value, progress measurement, and schedule performance activities as applicable.
  • Evaluate the schedule impact of change orders, scope changes, and project issues.
  • Participate in project schedule reviews and provide recommendations to improve project execution and on-time delivery.
  • Support development of recovery schedules and mitigation plans for projects experiencing delays.
  • Maintain accurate schedule documentation and provide regular schedule updates and reports to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts and resource constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, reporting, and project execution efficiency.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of project scheduling/planning experience, preferably in engineering, EPC, industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or petrochemical environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling principles, including:
  • Critical Path Method (CPM)
  • Baseline development
  • Schedule updates
  • Float analysis
  • Progress measurement
  • Milestone tracking
  • Schedule variance analysis
  • Resource planning
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify schedule risks and communicate potential impacts to project stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting EPC or large-scale capital projects.
  • Experience with cost control, forecasting, and earned value management.
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules and capacity planning.
  • Experience with change management and schedule impact analysis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, SAP, Acumen Fuse, InEight, or similar project controls tools.
  • Experience in an industrial, chemical, petrochemical, energy, or manufacturing environment.
  • PMI, AACE, APICS, or other relevant project controls/scheduling certification is a plus.
