DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the daily operations of the Bedford Outpatient Program by managing appointments, records, communication, and front desk activities. The role helps individuals, staff, and visitors by keeping information organized and providing reliable assistance throughout the office. As a Clerk 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Appointment Support: Schedule appointments, manage cancellations, and coordinate doctor workdays
- Record Maintenance: Retrieve charts and check forms in the Electronic Health Record
- Front Desk Service: Greet visitors, answer calls for staff, and direct individuals to appropriate personnel
- Information Verification: Confirm demographics, insurance details, and required documents during intake meetings
- Office Assistance: Prepare referral paperwork, print schedules, and organize files for outgoing letters
- Client Interaction: Screen medication and appointment calls and maintain positive rapport with individuals and staff
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.
- Telework: This position is typically not eligible for remote work; however, one day periodically of remote work may be approved on a case by case basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
- Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
