This role provides training and guidance as you learn how to support workplace concerns and help maintain fair processes across the agency. You will work alongside experienced staff who guide you through investigations, reviews, and responses to various workplace matters. As an Employee Relations Trainee, you will perform the following duties:
- Case Review: Examine grievances and related information to support consistent responses
- Information Gathering: Collect facts needed for investigations and analyses
- Appeal Support: Assist agency attorneys with Civil Service appeals, Human Relations Commission complaints, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints
- Contract Application: Learn how to apply provisions of contracts, memoranda of understanding, side letters, and local agreements
- Agreement Assistance: Help review or develop proposed Local Agreements for offices, boards, councils, or commissions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, two days per week in office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.
