Delivery Driver Helper

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and unloading furniture and other merchandise
• Safely carry furniture into homes, businesses, showrooms, and other delivery locations
• Properly wrap, pad, strap, and protect furniture during transportation
• Assist with unpacking, assembly, placement, and removal of packaging materials
• Inspect merchandise for visible damage before and during delivery
• Protect floors, walls, doors, elevators, and customer property while completing deliveries
• Follow delivery instructions and communicate any problems or damage immediately
• Assist with warehouse loading, unloading, receiving, and organization when needed
• Keep the truck, equipment, blankets, straps, and work areas clean and organized
• Work cooperatively with the driver and warehouse team
• Provide courteous and professional service to customers at all times
• Follow company safety procedures and delivery protocols

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Able to lift and carry heavy furniture safely with assistance
• Able to perform repeated lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and climbing stairs
• Comfortable working inside customers’ homes and businesses
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
• Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a two person delivery team
• Professional appearance and respectful communication with customers and coworkers
• Furniture delivery, moving, warehouse, or white glove delivery experience is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position. Employees must regularly lift, carry, push, and maneuver furniture and other large items. Deliveries may require navigating stairs, elevators, narrow hallways, and other challenging spaces.

Schedule

Schedule may vary based on delivery volume and customer appointments. Early morning start times and overtime may be required depending on the delivery schedule.

Compensation

$21.00 to $23.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
