Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-1st grade students in a specialized SDC classroom setting. This contract assignment runs through June 4, 2027, and offers the chance to work collaboratively with two experienced paraprofessionals, guiding students with moderate needs on their educational journey. Based in beautiful Napa, CA, you'll make a meaningful impact while developing your expertise in a positive, team-centered environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid, active California mild/moderate (CA mild/mod) teaching credentials are required; please be prepared to provide a current CTC screenshot.
  • Experience teaching in Special Education, preferably at the elementary (K-1st) level.
  • Background in working with moderate caseloads and supporting students in SDC (Special Day Class) settings.
  • Effective communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working with support staff and related service providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction to K-1st grade students, addressing IEP goals and differentiated learning needs.
  • Manage a moderate caseload alongside two classroom paraprofessionals, fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, families, and service providers to support each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with all applicable guidelines and best practices.
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and parent conferences as needed.
