Job Type: Full Time, Contract (Approximately 4-Month Project Duration)

Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday (Shift hours aligned with active industrial facility operations)

Industry: Industrial Energy Infrastructure, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Process Piping, and Mechanical Modifications

Pay Scale: $2,500.00 to $3,500.00 per week ($130,000.00 to $182,000.00 annualized equivalent) based on specialized experience

Incentives: Specialized Industrial Project Pay Rates, Dedicated Field Per Diem Allocations, Complete Operational On-Site Authority, Procore Technology Support

The Opportunity

Cissell Mueller is seeking an experienced, autonomous Traveling Industrial Superintendent (CNG & Fueling Infrastructure) to lead a high-spec Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) shop modification project in Leesburg, VA.

In this specialized, 100% on-site field leadership role, you will take total operational command over daily construction, structural modifications, heavy mechanical sequencing, and process piping installations within an active industrial shop footprint. Serving as the primary on-site authority for a nationally recognized industrial contractor, you will manage specialized trade subcontractors while maintaining zero operational disruption to active facility operations. If you bring a strong background in CNG, LNG, or hydrogen fueling infrastructure, deep P&ID blueprint reading fluency, and strict hazard class safety enforcement, Cissell Mueller provides top-tier weekly compensation, dedicated per diems, and executive logistical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Operations Command: Direct and manage all daily construction activities for the CNG facility modification project—ensuring strict adherence to critical path schedules, quality standards, and design specs.
  • Active Facility Workflow Coordination: Sequence mechanical, structural, electrical, and process piping workflows safely within a live, active industrial shop environment.
  • Industrial Risk & Safety Management: Enforce strict industrial safety protocols, execute Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and manage hazardous area classification standards (Class I, Div 1/2).
  • Owner & Inspector Liaison: Serve as the primary on-site representative for Cissell Mueller—managing technical reviews and site walkthroughs with facility operators, engineers, and municipal inspectors.
  • Subcontractor Orchestration: Lead, sequence, and supervise multi-tier mechanical, electrical, and structural subcontractors to ensure precise installation order and clean site logistics.
  • Technical Progress & Digital Reporting: Provide daily progress logs, milestone updates, schedule look-aheads, and digital tracking updates to corporate project managers using Procore software.
  • P&ID & Drawing Compliance: Review and build directly from complex mechanical prints, structural details, process piping schematics, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

  • Fueling Infrastructure Experience: Verified field superintendent experience managing construction, overhauls, or process piping installations within Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), or Hydrogen fueling facilities.
  • Blueprint & P&ID Literacy: Advanced ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference industrial mechanical blueprints, structural details, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Regulatory & Safety Fluency: Deep functional knowledge of industrial construction safety codes, pressure piping standards, and hazardous area classifications.
  • On-Site Deployment Commitment: Complete availability to maintain a 100% on-site field presence in Leesburg, VA (Loudoun County) for the full 4-month project lifecycle.
  • Mobility Credentials: Valid Driver License with a clean, insurable driving history.

Preferred

  • Safety Certifications: Active OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification or specialized industrial safety credentials.
  • Software Competency: Direct experience using Procore or similar mobile construction management platforms for daily logs, RFIs, and photos.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Premium Weekly Pay: $2,500.00 to $3,500.00 per week, customized directly to specialized fueling infrastructure experience.
  • Travel & Living Stipend: Dedicated daily per diem allocations provided for the duration of the 4-month regional assignment.
  • Specialized Portfolio Addition: Opportunity to anchor a high-visibility, mission-critical energy infrastructure project for a national general contractor.
  • Field Leadership Support: Complete operational authority on-site, supported by an executive project management team that provides responsive material and administrative backup.
