Special Education Teacher | Fairfield, California

This contract Special Education teaching position offers a dynamic setting with a manageable caseload and the support of two classroom paraprofessionals. The role runs from now through June 4, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.

Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be instrumental in shaping early educational experiences for children with moderate disabilities. The ideal candidate must possess an active California mild/moderate credential (please submit a screenshot of your current CTC in your application), ensuring you’re prepared to create an inclusive and adaptive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Active California mild/moderate credential required (submit CTC screenshot)
• Experience working with K-1st grade students in a special education setting
• Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere for students and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in a K-1 SDC classroom with moderate needs
• Develop IEPs and adapt lessons to diverse learning styles
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
