Skilled Nursing Facility Biller

Kettering, Ohio | $60,000 - $65,000 per year | Full-Time | Onsite

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in the Kettering area to identify an experienced Skilled Nursing Facility Biller. This role is responsible for managing resident billing, collections, accounts receivable, and payment processing while ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have prior skilled nursing facility experience and a strong understanding of long-term care billing practices.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with residents and family members to explain financial obligations, billing procedures, and available payment options.
  • Maintain accurate daily census records for facility residents.
  • Manage collection efforts for private pay balances and delinquent accounts.
  • Process monthly billing for various payor sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, MyCare Ohio, private insurance, workers' compensation, and private pay accounts.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and conduct timely follow-up on unpaid claims and resident balances.
  • Document collection activities and payment status updates to maintain accurate account records.
  • Lead and participate in accounts receivable aging reviews with facility leadership.
  • Post payments accurately and promptly to resident accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist with month-end accounting processes.
  • Review resident ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain resident trust funds in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Record, reconcile, and upload ancillary charges as required.
  • Support additional accounting and billing functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of billing experience within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, MyCare Ohio, managed care plans, and insurance billing processes.
  • Experience managing accounts receivable, collections, and aging reports.
  • Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities and payment arrangements with residents and their families.
  • Knowledge of debt collection practices, including payment plans, delinquency management, estates, and related processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with healthcare billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with facility leadership and accounting teams.
