Paralegal

Responsibilities:

• The Paralegal will assist with both criminal and family law matters, including:

• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, affidavits, proposed orders, and other litigation documents.

• Preparing and organizing documents for filing in Georgia courts.

• Assisting with discovery requests and responses.

• Preparing case files and exhibits for hearings and trials.

• Reviewing court dockets, pleadings, discovery, and case documents.

• Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties.

• Monitoring court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other important case deadlines.

• Assisting attorneys with preparation for hearings, motions, mediations, and trials.

• Providing general litigation and case-management support to attorneys.

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants must currently reside in Georgia and within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

• The successful candidate should:

• Have paralegal or substantial legal-assistant experience.

• Be comfortable working with Georgia criminal and/or family law cases.

• Have strong legal drafting skills and be capable of preparing litigation pleadings with limited supervision.

• Understand basic Georgia court procedures and litigation practices.

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Be highly organized and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

• Have strong interpersonal skills and remain calm under pressure.

• Be dependable, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced law firm environment.

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior Georgia criminal defense or family law experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience in both criminal defense and family law is ideal.

• Hands-on experience drafting motions, discovery, complaints, answers, domestic-relations pleadings, or criminal-defense filings is highly valued.
