Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a growing restaurant and food services organization in Los Angeles, CA. This role is ideal for a bilingual Spanish/English payroll professional with strong ADP Workforce Now experience and a proven background managing high-volume, multi-state payroll in a restaurant or multi-location environment.
The Payroll Manager will serve as the primary payroll subject matter expert, partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for 500+ employees. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll leader who enjoys process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment with supportive leadership and long-term career stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for 500+ employees across multiple locations and states.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and labor compliance requirements.
- Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, quarter-end and year-end processing, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and wage assignments.
- Review, audit, and process meal and rest period premium payments and labor compliance-related payroll items.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll reports for Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership.
- Support internal and external payroll audits while identifying opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and controls.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
