Job Title: WelderJob Description

This role focuses on performing high-quality welding on steel assemblies within a clean, organized fabrication environment. You will primarily utilize MIG welding, with occasional TIG or stick welding, to assemble and fabricate parts according to blueprints and production requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety and quality standards, and accurate documentation of work orders and production times.

Responsibilities
  • Place piece parts and assemblies in fixtures, on tables, or in appropriate devices to perform welding processes according to production requirements.
  • Perform MIG welding on steel assemblies and components to meet specified quality and structural standards.
  • Utilize TIG or stick welding methods when needed and operate cutting torches for fabrication and modification of parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine welding requirements, dimensions, and assembly specifications.
  • Monitor the quality of equipment parts and materials received in the assigned work area, remaining alert for any unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Immediately discontinue work and notify supervision when defects in quality or safety concerns are identified.
  • Record and report work order information, including production times and any relevant notes, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area throughout the shift, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform grinding and basic fabrication tasks as required to prepare or finish welded assemblies.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while welding and working in the fabrication area.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of MIG or TIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding on steel assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Experience with TIG or stick welding and use of cutting torches.
  • Capability to perform grinding and basic fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to monitor and identify defects in parts and materials and take appropriate action.
  • Basic documentation skills to record work order information and production times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on a welding and fabrication team in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with stainless steel welding and production workflows.
  • Comfort working with welding PPE such as weld masks and safety glasses.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and quality standards.
  • Willingness to cross-train in related fabrication and production tasks.

Work Environment

This position is part of a welding and fabrication team working in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. Standard shifts include a first shift Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of an earlier 5:00 a.m. start, and a second shift Monday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. You will be welding for the entire shift and are expected to wear long pants and steel-toed shoes. Required PPE includes a weld mask (typically provided by the welder) and safety glasses when not wearing the weld hood. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient production processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
