Job Title: Assembly Operator/Production Assembler/Mechanical Assembler

Location: San Jose, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract with a possibility of extension or conversion

Shift: Day/Swing/Grave/Weekend

Pay: $21-24/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this entry-level role, you will operate tools, machinery, and equipment to prepare, assemble, inspect, and test products according to standard operating procedures. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, this is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on technical skills and grow within a collaborative, continuous-improvement manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery, hand tools, and assembly equipment to build and prepare quality products according to written work instructions.
• Follow standard work procedures to meet established production targets and takt times.
• Read and interpret basic schematics, technical prints, and work orders.
• Test and visually inspect finished parts and subassemblies to ensure full compliance with quality standards.
• Accurately record production data, including manufacturing work orders, scrap counts, cycle times, and reject logs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and equipment area.
• Participate actively in Daily Tier / MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) meetings and suggest process enhancement ideas.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; Technical Certificate, Trade School diploma, or Associate Degree in a technical field is a plus.
• 0–3 years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, light industrial, or mechanical trade environments.
• Experience with PCB, PCA, PCBA, box build, or SMT is preferred but not required

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Strong manual dexterity and comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and light machinery.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort entering production data.
• Basic arithmetic skills for tracking counts, time, and scrap metrics.
• Positive attitude, strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for learning new technical skills.
