About the Role\n

We are seeking an experienced Michigan-licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or qualified advanced-practice nursing professional to serve as a Remote Clinical Nursing Preceptor for nursing students.

\n

This is a Michigan-only remote position. The selected preceptor will provide virtual clinical mentorship, case-based learning, competency development, student evaluation, and professional guidance to nursing students.

\n

The ideal candidate has substantial clinical nursing experience and a demonstrated interest in nursing education, precepting, clinical instruction, or professional mentorship.

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide structured virtual clinical mentorship to nursing students.
\n
• Guide students through case-based clinical scenarios and patient-care situations.
\n
• Facilitate virtual clinical discussions, simulations, and learning activities.
\n
• Help students translate nursing theory and classroom concepts into clinical decision-making.
\n
• Evaluate students' clinical reasoning, assessment skills, documentation, communication, and professional competencies.
\n
• Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback.
\n
• Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional development.
\n
• Promote evidence-based nursing practice, patient safety, and professional standards.
\n
• Support development of clinical assessment, prioritization, communication, and decision-making skills.
\n
• Collaborate with nursing faculty and the educational team regarding student progress.
\n
• Complete accurate student evaluations and required documentation.
\n
• Use virtual learning platforms and video-conferencing technology effectively.
\n
• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and appropriate standards of conduct.

Required Qualifications\n

Applicants must meet ALL applicable requirements below:

• Currently reside in Michigan.
\n
• Hold an active, unrestricted Michigan RN license.
\n
• BSN, MSN, DNP, or equivalent nursing education preferred.
\n
• Strong clinical nursing experience in a relevant practice setting.
\n
• Demonstrated experience mentoring, precepting, teaching, or supervising nurses or nursing students.
\n
• Strong understanding of clinical competency development and professional nursing standards.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
\n
• Comfortable conducting clinical education remotely using video conferencing and online learning platforms.
\n
• Strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
\n
• Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and student development.
\n
