Job Description

Trauma-Focused Therapist / Clinical Psychologist – Illinois

\n

LPC | LCPC | LSW | LCSW | ALMFT | LMFT | Clinical Psychologist / PhD / PsyD

\n

W-2 | Hybrid Chicago or Fully Remote | Part-Time to Full-Time | Hiring 1–2 Clinicians

\n

\n

Compassionate Healing & Psychotherapy Center (CHPC) is expanding our Illinois clinical team and seeking 1–2 compassionate, collaborative clinicians who are passionate about trauma-informed care and want to build a long-term professional home within a supportive multidisciplinary practice.

\n

\n

Our Chicago office is located at:

\n

25 E. Washington Street

\n

Chicago, IL 60602

\n

\n

We welcome clinicians interested in hybrid work from our downtown Chicago office, as well as qualified candidates seeking a fully remote Illinois position.

\n

Our goal is simple: CHPC handles much of the business infrastructure so our clinicians can focus primarily on excellent clinical care, developing their expertise, and growing professionally.

\n

\n

WHAT WE OFFER

\n

• W-2 employment with a part-time-to-full-time career path

\n

• Bi-weekly payroll — clinicians do not wait for insurance claims to be reimbursed to CHPC before receiving pay for eligible completed services

\n

• Established practice infrastructure and referral development

\n

• Billing, credentialing, and administrative support

\n

• Psychology Today and professional marketing support

\n

• Business cards, marketing materials, and networking guidance

\n

• Flexible scheduling

\n

• Clinical supervision/consultation opportunities appropriate to role and licensure level

\n

• Trauma-focused training, CE opportunities, and specialty guest speakers

\n

• CHPC-required training costs covered by the practice

\n

• Full-time benefits for eligible clinicians, including medical, dental, vision, paid sick leave, paid vacation, and major paid holidays

\n

• Opportunities for clinical leadership, supervision, training, program development, and specialty services

\n

\n

COMPENSATION & CAREER GROWTH

\n

CHPC uses progressive compensation so clinicians can move from caseload development into established salaried positions.

\n

\n

Master’s-Level Clinicians:

\n

Caseload-development compensation generally up to $50 per completed clinical hour, depending on license, experience, specialization, and role, with advancement into part-time and full-time salary tiers.

\n

\n

Licensed Clinical Psychologists / PhD / PsyD:

\n

Caseload-development compensation of approximately $62–$65 per completed clinical hour, depending on specialization and experience, with progression into salaried psychologist roles.

\n

Advanced psychologist opportunities may reach $90,000–$100,000+ depending on productivity, psychological assessments/evaluations, report preparation, supervision, specialty services, and leadership responsibilities.

\n

\n

The hourly stage is intended for caseload development — not as the long-term endpoint of the position.

\n

\n

OUR CLINICAL FOCUS

\n

CHPC serves individuals, couples, adolescents, university students, and families.

\n

We frequently work with:

\n

• Childhood relational and attachment trauma

\n

• Complex PTSD and developmental trauma

\n

• Adult survivors of childhood abuse or neglect

\n

• Domestic violence and abusive relationships

\n

• Narcissistic and antagonistic relationship dynamics

\n

• Relationship and attachment concerns

\n

• Adolescents from chaotic or high-conflict households

\n

• Borderline Personality Disorder and complex presentations

\n

• ADHD and neurodivergence

\n

• Depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation

\n

• LGBTQIA+ concerns

\n

Religious/spiritual trauma

\n

• Racial and cultural trauma

\n

• University and graduate student mental health

\n

• First responder trauma and occupational stress

\n

• Grief, identity concerns, and major life transitions

\n

\n

You do not need to specialize in every area. We want to know which populations and clinical concerns you feel most passionate about serving.

\n

\n

TRAUMA SPECIALIZATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

\n

We especially value clinicians with training, experience, or strong interest in:

\n

• EMDR

\n

• Internal Family Systems / parts work

\n

• Somatic and body-based trauma interventions

\n

• Attachment-focused and relational therapy

\n

• Complex trauma and C-PTSD

\n

• Domestic violence and relational abuse

\n

• LGBTQIA+-affirming care

\n

• Neurodiversity-affirming care

\n

\n

You do not need to arrive as an expert.

\n

We value clinicians who are compassionate, curious, clinically grounded, open to consultation, and committed to continued professional development.

\n

\n

Depending on qualifications and interests, clinicians may also have opportunities to develop or facilitate:

\n

• Psychotherapy groups

\n

• Support or psychoeducational groups

\n

• Trauma-recovery workshops

\n

• Relationship and attachment workshops

\n

• Mindfulness and meditation programs

\n

• Trauma-informed yoga/body-based wellness programs

\n

\n

• Psychological assessments and evaluations

\n

• Other innovative clinical programs

\n

\n

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGISTS ARE WELCOME

\n

CHPC is a multidisciplinary practice and welcomes licensed psychologists interested in psychotherapy, psychological evaluations and assessments, or a combination of services.

\n

We are particularly interested in psychologists who may want to help expand CHPC's psychological assessment and evaluation services.

\n

\n

CHPC also collaborates with healthcare providers and other community professionals when appropriate to support coordinated and comprehensive client care.

\n

\n

CASELOAD DEVELOPMENT

\n

CHPC invests in referral development, marketing, credentialing, billing, administration, clinician profiles, networking support, and professional visibility.

\n

We believe in transparency: a specific number of referrals or caseload size cannot be guaranteed.

\n

A sustainable caseload develops through specialization, availability, responsiveness to referrals, therapeutic fit, client retention, scheduling flexibility, and professional outreach.

\n

CHPC provides the infrastructure and opportunities. We ask clinicians to bring excellent clinical care, reliability, professionalism, responsiveness, and active participation in their professional growth.

\n

Caseload development is a shared partnership.

\n

\n

WHO MAY THRIVE AT CHPC?

\n

You may be a strong fit if you:

\n

• Want to focus on clinical work without carrying the full burden of running your own practice

\n

• Are passionate about trauma-informed care

\n

• Value teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration

\n

• Welcome consultation, feedback, and continued learning

\n

• Communicate reliably and professionally

\n

• Take continuity of client care seriously

\n

\n

• Understand diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation

\n

• Respect professional boundaries, organizational policies, and clinical standards

\n

• Understand that caseloads develop over time

\n

• Are willing to participate in appropriate networking and outreach

\n

• Want to develop a specialty and potentially grow into leadership

\n

We value integrity, professionalism, reliability, compassion, curiosity, and commitment to growth.

\n

\n

HYBRID OR FULLY REMOTE

\n

Clinicians interested in hybrid work can provide services from our downtown Chicago office at 25 E. Washington Street, Chicago, IL 60602.

\n

\n

Fully remote Illinois candidates are also welcome to apply.

\n

Scheduling and office use can be discussed based on clinician availability, client needs, and role.

\n

\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in an appropriate behavioral health discipline

\n

• Active Illinois license or credential appropriate to the position

\n

• Understanding of diagnosis, treatment planning, and professional documentation

\n

\n

• Willingness to participate in consultation and professional development

\n

• Individual Professional Liability Insurance in addition to CHPC's organizational coverage

\n

• Appropriate confidential workspace and technology for remote services

\n

Foundational trauma training is strongly preferred for psychotherapy positions.

\n

\n

AN AFFIRMING & INCLUSIVE PRACTICE

\n

CHPC is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer committed to anti-discriminatory employment practices.

\n

We strive to provide an LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, collaborative, inclusive, and supportive environment that respects diverse identities, cultures, abilities, beliefs, relationships, and lived experiences.
