The Position

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Architect to join our growing Healthcare practice, with preference for candidates bringing 15–20+ years of architectural experience and a proven track record delivering complex healthcare projects.

  • This is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for guiding projects from design development and documentation through HCAI / OSHPD approvals, construction administration, and closeout.
  • The ideal candidate brings strong California healthcare experience, advanced technical knowledge, excellent Revit capabilities, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through highly regulated project environments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical delivery of complex healthcare architecture projects.
  • Guide projects through design development, construction documentation, permitting, construction administration, and closeout.
  • Lead coordination between architecture, interiors, engineering, consultants, contractors, and client teams.
  • Navigate HCAI / OSHPD requirements and California healthcare regulations.
  • Develop, review, and oversee highly coordinated construction documents.
  • Provide technical leadership for both core & shell and interior healthcare environments.
  • Lead consultant coordination and resolve complex technical and constructability issues.
  • Participate in agency coordination, plan review, permitting, and approvals.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, field observations, change documentation, and construction-phase issues.
  • Maintain project QA/QC and documentation standards.
  • Mentor Project Architects, Job Captains, designers, and emerging architectural professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

  • 15–20+ years of professional architecture experience ideal.
  • CA Registered Architecture License is mandatory 
  • Significant experience delivering healthcare architecture projects. Strong HCAI / OSHPD experience is required.
  • Experience with hospitals, medical facilities, inpatient/outpatient environments, clinical spaces, or comparable healthcare projects.
  • Strong technical architecture and construction documentation background.
  • Experience across both core & shell and interior architecture is highly valued.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of California Building Code, accessibility requirements, life safety, healthcare codes, and construction standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead consultant coordination and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong construction administration experience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and client-facing skills.
