Job Title: Supply Chain Consultant Location: Hornell, NY Type: Part time Contract Compensation: $50/hr Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 20-30 per week Overview Provide on-site support at a facility in Hornell, NY for our client to resolve the issues that cause them to not meet our delivery schedules. To work collaboratively with Program Manager and Supply Chain Management to identify constraints, improve execution, and drive recovery plans that support our delivery commitments. To make sure we are getting true facts on the issues and that they are adequately being addressed.
Responsibilities • Act as the primary on-site representative for our client for monitoring supplier performance related to HVAC equipment and truck overhaul programs. • Review production schedules, work-in-process, material availability, and shipment commitments to ensure alignment with contractual delivery requirements. • Verify that adequate staffing is assigned to our project to support our delivery schedule. • Identify and communicate risks impacting production output, including labor shortages, component availability, repair turn-around times, quality issues, and capacity constraints to Program Management • Monitor overhaul workflow through disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, testing, and final acceptance processes. • Work with the supplier on development and execution of recovery plans for late orders and backlog reduction. • Coordinate with supplier production, planning, quality, engineering, purchasing, and logistics personnel to remove obstacles affecting schedule performance. • Verify that critical components and long-lead items are available to support production schedules. • Verify the contract quantities of material have been placed and scheduled for the entire contract and spare parts. • Track and report key performance indicators including: On-Time Delivery (OTD), Schedule Adherence, Production Throughput, WIP Levels, Material Shortages, Open Quality Issues. • Escalate significant schedule, quality, or capacity risks to client management and supplier. • Provide weekly status reports detailing recovery progress, remaining risks, and projected shipment dates. Daily update to Hector and Joe while the project is distressed. • Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions to improve long-term supplier performance. • Complete inspection of HVAC products and trucks before they are shipped to client. Document results and take applicable pictures. • Review any hidden damaged items on the trucks. • Participate in the weekly Teams calls with client and supplier—two separate calls, one for trucks and one for HVAC.
Requirements • Experience in supply chain or logistics support, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments. • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to review and interpret production schedules and supply chain data. • Attention to detail in inspection and documentation processes.
