Mechanical Engineer I

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Mechanical Engineer job in Florence, SC. This CONTRACT job is available with one of our key customers in the elevator industry. In this role, you will provide engineering support for field turnbacks received from elevator field mechanics and help maintain product integrity by evaluating issues and implementing engineering changes. To be successful in this position, you should have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and zero to three years of experience, along with a strong mechanical engineering background and experience designing and modeling mechanical components using Creo or other 3D CAD software. You will work closely with field representatives and cross-functional teams to resolve field issues, integrate new component designs, and support cost and schedule commitments. This Mechanical Engineer job is a good opportunity for someone self-motivated, hands-on, and interested in taking mechanical designs from evaluation through documentation and testing.

Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for field turnbacks, evaluating issues reported by field mechanics and helping drive closure of the Field Turnback Backlog through engineering solutions and approved change control processes.
• Design and model mechanical components, including developing new component designs and integrating design changes into existing elevator systems.
• Perform cost analysis, prepare technical documentation, and support component testing for a variety of mechanical products and systems.
• Work closely with field representatives and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, communicate technical solutions, and meet established cost and schedule commitments.
• Support product integrity and manufacturing activities by applying sound mechanical engineering principles and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with zero to three or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering background with experience designing and modeling mechanical components using Creo or other 3D CAD software.
• Experience with technical documentation, sheet metal design, and PDM/PLM software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to work independently as well as in engineering and cross-functional team environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical team members.
• Hands-on testing or manufacturing experience is preferred, along with familiarity with test and measurement equipment.
