Direct Counsel is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 2+ years of patent litigation experience and a background in technology or life sciences to join a sophisticated intellectual property practice.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and litigate patent matters in federal district court and/or before the International Trade Commission
Participate in Markman hearings and other key phases of patent litigation
Conduct technical analysis of products, patents, and related technologies
Prepare and manage discovery
Work closely with technical experts
Take and defend depositions
Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
Collaborate closely with attorneys and other members of the litigation team
Maintain strong client relationships and provide effective, business-focused legal advice
2+ years of patent litigation experience
Experience handling patent matters in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission
JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to practice in California, Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC
Background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technology field, or in biology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related life sciences field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Professionalism and confidence when working with clients
The firm follows a hybrid work model, with attorneys expected to work from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with firm guidelines.
Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $235,000–$420,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is also bonus eligible and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
