Aventura at Walton Hills is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Activities Director to lead our resident activities program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences that promote social engagement, wellness, independence, and a strong sense of community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, plan, and oversee a diverse calendar of daily and weekly activities for residents.

• Create programs that support residents' social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.

• Organize recreational, educational, cultural, fitness, and entertainment programs.

• Plan special events, holiday celebrations, community outings, and resident-centered activities.

• Encourage participation while respecting each resident's individual interests, abilities, and preferences.

• Build strong relationships with residents and learn their personal interests and backgrounds.

• Coordinate with families, volunteers, community organizations, and outside vendors when appropriate.

• Supervise, train, and support activity staff and volunteers.

• Maintain accurate activity calendars, attendance records, and required documentation.

• Evaluate programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and participation.

• Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities are appropriate for residents' needs and abilities.

• Promote a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive community environment.

• Ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

• Experience working with seniors preferred.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Creative, enthusiastic, and dependable.

• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

• Ability to manage multiple programs, events, and priorities.

• Proficiency with basic computer programs and documentation.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
