Aventura at Walton Hills is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Activities Director to lead our resident activities program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences that promote social engagement, wellness, independence, and a strong sense of community.

Develop, plan, and oversee a diverse calendar of daily and weekly activities for residents.
Create programs that support residents' social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.
Organize recreational, educational, cultural, fitness, and entertainment programs.
Plan special events, holiday celebrations, community outings, and resident-centered activities.
Encourage participation while respecting each resident's individual interests, abilities, and preferences.
Build strong relationships with residents and learn their personal interests and backgrounds.
Coordinate with families, volunteers, community organizations, and outside vendors when appropriate.
Supervise, train, and support activity staff and volunteers.
Maintain accurate activity calendars, attendance records, and required documentation.
Evaluate programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and participation.
Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities are appropriate for residents' needs and abilities.
Promote a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive community environment.
Ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Experience working with seniors preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative, enthusiastic, and dependable.
Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple programs, events, and priorities.
Proficiency with basic computer programs and documentation.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
